and How It Optimizes Results
Traditionally, crowns are sent to a dental lab to be fabricated in a process that can take 2-3 weeks. CEREC uses computer-assisted design and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology to streamline treatment and avoid the need for a long wait.
The CEREC intraoral scanner produces precise images of your teeth and sends them to your dentist's computer for them to design your crown digitally. Their digital designs are sent to the CEREC in-office milling machine for fabrication. The CEREC machine will use your digital designs to carve your custom crown out of a block of high-grade porcelain.
Your crown will be customized to comfortably fit your tooth and create a gorgeous, healthy smile.
Same-Day Crowns Can Replace a Missing Tooth When Supported By a Dental Implant
Have a Missing Tooth?
Our dentists can perform dental implant surgery to restore your missing tooth. It will take around four to six months for the site to heal completely. Once healed, we can replace your temporary restoration with a CEREC crown perfectly designed to fit your implant and smile.
Have a Dental Implant?
While your implants could last a lifetime, your restoration will need to be replaced after around 10 years. Our Anchorage practice can replace a dental crown that has become worn or damaged over time. By using our CEREC technology, we can restore your implant-supported crown in one visit.
Are Dental Crowns Right for You?
During your free consultation, Dr. Latteier or Dr. Menard will review your oral health to determine if CEREC crowns are the best treatment option for you. He will also discuss your goals and concerns. Crowns can help:
- Repair a damaged tooth
- Treat advanced decay
- Protect your teeth from further damage
- Protect your tooth after a root canal
- Conceal stains
- Replace missing teeth
